Rollie At Camp Trinity
I get a little confused about what the chronology of events were in my life about this time. Since the postmark on the envelope was December, 1962, so I have to believe it. I was working at a very popular children's camp in Trinity County, California. I think I was there three summers as well as one winter when we served 6 or 8 emotionally disturbed teen-agers. I was the director of the camp for one summer and ran the winter program. There is lots to tell. I think I could write a book about this experience and I may someday. The camp was started and run by a couple, Grover and Erma Gates. The camp's philosophy was loosely based on the book Summerhill. I loved being there. However, I thought the Gates' did not come through with what they promised me and I left. Again, lot more. That's enough for now. I think I was there during the 1962 winter. The note if from Erma who was away. It appears to be a nice evaluation of what was going on with our winter program.
