Articles of Faith
This is a little book called The Articles of Faith. It appears to me to be a Mormon book. I don't believe I've ever touched a book like this before. There are three exciting things to me about this post. 1. I have always said that my family on my Mother's side were Mormons. However, by the time I cam along, most of them had become Baptists or something else. This tells me that in fact they were Mormons in the beginning. 2. There is a newspaper article about the death of a civil leader in Manassa, Colorado. I do not recognize the name (Huffaker), but Manassa is a town I have heard about often with regard to the Warnock/Hamblen family. 2. There is a Letter to the Editor. It is kind of cute. What I think it was trying to say is that Jesus would have never served real wine at the miracle scene. He would have only served grape juice!. However, as proof the writer quotes a verse from the old Testament that he contents is a quote from Jesus. Am I wrong, or was Jesus not around during the writing of the Old Testament?

The Huffakers were relatives of some sort. Mother spoke of them.
I commented on the trip to Colorado with Mother and Nana and me. There was a Warnock family reunion planned just after we were to leave. I think, for some reason, Harold of Harold and Ollie, relatives that warmly greeted us when we arrived, mentioned that there would be hundreds of Warnocks attending.
I don't remember all the facts, but there are two particular things that come to my mind about that tril. I believe Harold took some of us to a rodeo. As the rodeo began, there seemed to be a flag carrier riding as fast as he could around the ring and then was followed by a parade of rodeo performers. Harold pointed the flag carrier as one of our relatives, and, I think during the parade of performers, he pointed to many as our relatives.
The other story is that Harold and Ollie, I believe, thought that I might like to go to a church (Mormon) dance. I liked the idea, and I thought it would be hokie, particularly because I was a cool California boy. Well, when I got to the gym where the dance was being held, there was music but very little dancing. It was very dark and most of the kids were under an overhanging seating area making it very dark under it. That's where all the kids were, and they were all passionately making out. I was shocked!! Lol. My presence did not imprees them in the least, and it was a boring dance. (Larry)
